Simi music - Tooxclusive Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye and her achievements

Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye was born on April 19, 1988. She is popular by the name as Simi. Apart from being a singer from Nigeria, she is a noted songwriter as well. Though she started her singing career as a gospel singer, Simi released her opening studio album in 2008 titled Ogaju. However, she reached the peak of her career in 2014 post releasing "Tiff". It is here to note that ‘Tiff’ was nominated in a couple of categories at The Headies 2015. This gave the major boost to her career. She has recently signed a deal with X3M Music. In fact, she has released her second studio album Simisola under X3M Music.

Though Simi is a noted singer now, her career started as a danced. She later sang for her local church's choir. Later she penned her first song at the age of 10. On her professional work front, she started her musical career in 2008. Next, she released her debut album called Ogaju which is quite renowned for the numbers like "Iya Temi" and "Ara Ile".

Noteworthy Achievements:


Simi released an EP called Restless in the year 2014, which created a lot of buzzes. In fact, this made her bag another record deal with X3M Music. EP consists of 5 tracks including the globally renowned performances like Man Down by Rihana, Set Fire to the Rain by Adele.


Simi Music came up with a couple of singles called "Tiff" and "E No Go Funny", among which, Tiff created a lot of news. It was quite appreciated by the music critics as well. It ("Tiff") was released on 30th August 2015 and has been directed by Josh Clarke. It was nominated under “Best Alternative Song" category at The Headies, 2015.


The year 2015 was significant for Simi as she won in the "Most Promising Act to Watch" category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Among other popular numbers, she released “Love Don’t Care’ on 14th February 2016, which received many accolades from the critics.



The song got accolades for the social stand it took. Clarence Peters directed it. In fact, she was nominated in the Best Breakthrough Act category at the 2016 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards. She again came to news post her collaboration with Falz and releasing ‘Chemistry’.

The year 2016 was equally good for her as she was nominated in three categories at The Headies 2016 award ceremony.
